My Granddad and Boppy visited me this past weekend. I had seen Granddad not too long ago, but it had been awhile since I'd seen Boppy. What a treat! I recognized them right away and surprised everyone by giving out hugs as soon as they arrived.
Unfortunately I was torn away from them soon after they arrived since it was my bedtime. Mama, Daddy & my grandparents went to a nice French dinner to celebrate Dada's belated birthday. On Saturday I got a special treat (and so did Mama and Dada) when Granddad and Boppy took me for the morning. We went out to breakfast and on a walk to the park. I chased a squirrel, but I couldn't catch it! In the afternoon, we went on a really cook hike in SkyLine Park. My favorite part of the whole hike was swapping hats with Granddad and riding on his shoulders...he was my special buddy for the weekend.
Big hat, little hat...
On Sunday we drove to Petaluma to visit the Gale Family Ranch owned by Mike & Sally Gale (aka Chilean Valley Farms) - Mr. Gale was a college friend of Granddad's. What an amazing day! I got to run through the barn and the greenhouse. I devoured my first hamburger - made by Mrs. Sally from their grass fed beef...yummy! I even got to play in a tractor. I played with doggies, cats, chickens, rabbits, goats and cows...lots of them! Mama & Dada fed a baby cow a bottle...and tried to prevent me from playing with all the cow patties. I thought patties were something that you eat?

Vroom, vroom...

What a wonderful weekend...I slept so well last night! Can't wait to see them again!
Bathtime before bedtime...Mama made me wash off all those cow patties...
Dada ran the marathon recently - here are some photos from the day! Mama & I rooted for him and our friends Jen & Antonio along the way & at the finish line too!
We also got to go to Tahoe again this month. This time, some of Mama's best friends and their families joined us. Analeah from college, with her husband Ian and boys Keeton & Jonah. Beth from residency, with husband Mike and kids Ellie & Zack. And Cara from post-residency, with Bill. Gran Twiga and John also joined us. I had an amazing time. Mama says it was definitely more chaotic than normal with all the kids around, but I had the best time ever (aside from my first ear infections!). I chased the big kids around and was generally oblivious to the fact that they were playing "run away from Declan game". I got to eat a cupcake for the first time (thanks Miss Analeah!). And baby Zack was so funny how he just lays around and crawls a little. Why doesn't he just walk like the rest of us?

Can't wait to make it to tahoe again! Granddad & Boppy visit this weekend, so stay tuned for photos of my adventures with them.
I'm almost 18 months adjusted now...and gaining weight finally! I'd been sick a few times, and then was learning to eat by mouth, so I didn't gain weight for awhile. But now, I'm up 2 pounds in the past 2 months! I'm inching closer to having my g-tube removed, but Mama is making me wait a little bit longer until flu season is over...just in case.
I am running and climbing all over.
Mama is counting the list of words that I can say...and it does NOT include Mama (I'm holding off on that one until she can't stand it anymore!). I can say Dada, night-night, cat, clock, bubble, ball, woof-woof, wha' dat?, uh-oh (my personal favorite...usually said as a premonition). I know so many more words though (I just haven't found the energy to say them yet)...such as ball, book, block, milk, water, more, socks, shoes, diaper, most of my body parts (even the ones I'm not supposed to touch!), bath, water and on and on... I'm amazing Mama and Daddy daily with how much I am learning, including complex phrases such as "put away the book", "walk to the car", "going to the park", etc.
I'm still a super good sleeper - I go to bed at 7pm and wake up at 7:30am, and nap from 1-3. I didn't get this beautiful without my beauty rest!
I wanted to give you all a taste of what I do during my days when Mama & Daddy are off bringing home the bacon. (Check out all the videos...they keep getting better!)
