Keevah Nyx - the Winter Post!

Spring is here & Winter flew by!

Since the last post, we've been to Tahoe a few times - they didn't have great snow in January, but it took us 9 hours over two days to get to Tahoe to enjoy an epic snow dump in February!

School is much the same as always, though Declan only has one trimester left at our school before starting High School.  The big news is that he got into the high school of his choice - a private Catholic school called Justin-Siena.  He's super excited since it's a legitimately great school, and also because all four of his good friends also got in!  I'm happy for him, but I'm going to miss having him with me at St. John's.  My biggest school project in the past few months was my mission project.  I got Mission San Gabriel Arcangel - and had a really fun time making my mission!  Mama and Dada took Declan and his friend Constantine to the Book of Mormon in SF.  I really wanted to go, but they said I'm still to young for some reason???

Declan and I each enjoyed a "YES DAY" with Mama - a pretty awesome Christmas present. We each got to miss a day of school to do it, and my teacher thought it was such a great idea that she's going to do it for her own kid.  Declan and Mama did some reading on the deck (can you believe that Declan just finished a real literary translation of the Iliad??), went to lunch at Morimoto for sushi, watched Sinners (they both agree it is fantastic), did some drawing, and then went to Cole's Chop House for dinner.  On my Yes Day, Mama and I went to Black Bear diner for breakfast, then got a manicure & pedicure, then Frida's for a Mexican lunch, then to Lip Lab, then Ben & Jerry's, then bowling/arcade, and finally home.  Once home, Mama taught me how to crochet a bit and we enjoyed an evening firepit before "snuggling in bed and going online shopping!"  It was PERFECT!  Lip lab was a particularly fun experience.  We got to custom design our own lipsticks and balms - down to the color, the scent, the case, and even engraving!

It was also the first ever Father-daughter dance at school! Dada was the only one wearing a tux - it was pretty awesome!

The biggest thing we did in the past few months was a trip to DISNEYLAND (also a Christmas present!).  We were able to stay at the Grand Californian, which is so fantastic since we didn't have to drive the entire time we were there.  My favorite rides were the Matterhorn, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Space Mountain.  Declan loves the Matterhorn, *************

2021 & 2026 - same spot

Super not happy about how incredibly soaked I got on the new Splash Mountain!

The most special part of the trip is that Mama & Dada surprised us with dinner at Club 33 - an exclusive restaurant inside Disneyland right in New Orleans square (Dada knows a member who was able to get us access).  The meal was so incredibly yummy - and we got to watch the night-time water show right off our own personal balcony! We got a private escort out of the park at the end since the park was closed!

And ending with a cute rabbit eating Mama's flowers - Chocolate loves to eat things he's not supposed to.

The next post will be about our trip to Greece & Turkey - we leave on April 1st!
