Keevah Nyx: Christmas Joy!

Greetings from Zambia!  Here's one photo to tide you over until we get the Africa trip post up in another week or two.  This post is about Christmas!  But...since that week was crazy with getting the house put back together, both parents working, and packing for our three week Africa adventure - Mama simply didn't have time to get the Christmas post up before we left!

Enjoying New Years in the Serengeti!

Christmas was so much fun as always!  We wound up school a few days before and enjoyed the lead-in to the holidays at home in Napa.  Mama was on call this year, so we couldn't go anywhere...which was actually a blessing!  We followed all of our Christmas Eve Traditions: Santa Tracker on the big TV, going for a walk to see all the Christmas Lights, a fancy dinner out (this time at Bear @ Stanley Ranch), and back home for reading 'Twas the Night before Christmas in our matching Christmas jammies.  We set out Sauternes, blue cheese, milk & cookies for Santa, and veggies for the reindeer.  Yep - in our house, we give Santa a little Sauternes & blue cheese to help settle his stomach after all those sweets!

Apparently Die Hard is a Christmas movie...

Not a Creature was stirring, not even a mouse...

Christmas morning, we awoke to the hallway being blocked by a bunch of wrapping paper to prevent us from seeing all the presents too early!  Once we could get our parents up at 8am!, we busted through the paper to see a mound of presents!  The dogs scarfed up the remains of Santa's snacks & milk!

We opened stockings first, then had a yummy breakfast of homemade cinnamon rolls, bacon, and scrambled eggs.  FINALLY we were able to open our gifts.  I got my very first laptop computer! And some arts/crafts stuff, roller skates, and a new sleeping bag.  Declan got his much longed-for Nintendo Switch, slippers, and a wearable blanket (so Mama will stop yelling at him when he wears her nice blankets outside!).  We both got some shared gifts too: laser tag, nerf swords, and the most amazing water guns ever!  We played with our goodies the rest of the afternoon, and then enjoyed a sumptuous prime rib dinner!  Poor Mama had to operate the next day, but the rest of us got to be lazy!

Mama made me a new crocheted bunny to be friends with OG Bunny Rabbit

And Mama gave the whole family a new pizza oven!

We set off on our trip to Tanzania & Zambia on Dec 30th, and will return in another week - so stay tuned for that post! Lots of amazing photos coming up!
