Keevah Nyx: From Winter to Spring

We barrelled straight through the Winter into the Spring.  The Africa trip just made the Winter fly by!  We were still able to enjoy some ski weekends in Tahoe.  I'm now officially comfortable on Black Diamonds!  I really hate turning when I ski, because it just slows me down! It's really fun to be able to ski with Declan & Dada.  Mama has really bad knees, so she can't ski with us, but we enjoy sledding and tubing together!

After the Africa trip, we each had to do a presentation at school on the things that we learned.  I did a 45 minute PowerPoint presentation to my class on the different cultures in Tanzania & Zambia, as well as some "cool animal facts".  I wasn't even nervous! Declan gave his talk to the ENTIRE middle school, and he practiced so so much for it.  He did really awesome presenting on the "Scramble for Africa", about colonialism in the 1800s.  The audiences asked us so many questions and really seemed to enjoy our talks!

We also had some projects for school recently.  I had to do a presentation on Harry S. Truman, and Declan had to present on an inventor.  He chose the guy who invented American Football, Walter Camp, and had to dress up like him.  Isn't he cute in Dada's old football gear?

We enjoyed time with friends.

And enjoyed the Napa Lighted Art Festival.  There are lighted sculptures all over Downtown, and there are also projected light shows on some of Napa's historic buildings.  Several of my friends were able to join us, and Declan was the best big brother ever - allowing us to basically torture him the entire evening!

We had a crazy 5 days without electricity after a windstorm took out a TON of trees in Napa.  Thankfully we have the Tesla Powerwall and Solar Panels - but we still tried to really conserve energy.  We lived by flashlight and candles for several evenings!

As we transitioned into the Spring, we took some nice walks and enjoyed being outdoors in Napa! The doggos love going for walks!

Our good friends Brad, Carol, Vienna, Ali, and Jude came to visit from Seattle for Easter. We dyed eggs, and had a great time on Easter!  We all did a really nice long walk at Skyline park, and the grown ups had time for some wine tasting and a fancy dinner out.

Somewhere along the way, I advanced to my Blue Belt in Tae Kwon Do!  I recently competed in my first tournament, and got second place in Forms, and third place in Sparring.

The rest of these are just a hodge-podge of other moments in the past few months!
