I'm officially a second grader! We're at St. John's Lutheran for the second year, and it was so nice to see all my friends in one place again. We traveled so much this summer, that I didn't get to see my friends as often as I would have liked. My teacher was on maternity leave for the first month, so Mrs. Montes (my Spanish teacher) stepped in as a long-term substitute. My permanent teacher just started this week, and I really like her too - Mrs. Mathison. I'm getting better and better at reading and I really enjoy helping out at school. I'm doing the school musical this year - Anastasia - and rocking it as a "Russian townsperson". I continue to enjoy horseback riding on Saturdays, and Tae Kwon Do three days/week after school. I'm an advanced purple belt now, so watch out! My favorite subject is still math, and I'm still loving arts & crafts whenever I have time. I also still love playing with my dogs & rabbits.
Declan is now in 6th grade, officially in middle school. The new school (St. John's Lutheran), that we changed to last year, goes through eighth grade, so he didn't need to change schools again. He's happily with my friends in Mrs. Koen's class - and really liking it a lot. As opposed to the challenge of making new friends when we switched schools last year, this year was an easy transition, and he took on the 6th grade complicated homework situation relatively easily. He's still able to get together with my friends Tai & Ryder from the old school, but his circle has grown at the new one. His bestie, Haines, is still with him, and they love hanging out with Sam, Rylan, Killian, Connie, Charlie, and more! He is really enjoying running more and more, especially when he gets to run with Dada. He also still does fencing three times/week, and is getting so much better with some private lessons. Video editing & creating short films is he new favorite passtime, though he still loves coding. When our parents let him, he also loves playing on his VR headset. His favorite subject is also math!
